Let me tell you a quick story.
The closest person in my life is my mom. 💗 Every day I am grateful to have this incredible woman in my life.
Now, my entire adult life, starting from somewhere in my 20th, in attempts to lose that pesky weight that kept creeping in I’ve done all kinds of physical fitness activities. I took on running – did not last long, found it very hard on the joints even at a young age. Aerobics and step aerobics – had to stop too because felt like I was falling apart. Hot yoga… well, there is only so much a person can sweat… and then after some time I just quit everything and started walking. Just walking in nature, in the parks, on trails or treadmills if the weather is not cooperating.
Walking and loving it because it’s the most natural type of movement for us humans. In addition to the known benefits of walking, I personally love walking because I can do it daily, no rest days are needed like with more vigorous types of fitness activities. In order to get tired, you really need to walk a lot and for a long time, a busy professional does not have that much time
So I started walking and then after I’ve been doing it for a few years I realized that the only form of physical activity I ever remember my mom doing is walking. Ha! Who would have known that walking was all I needed all along! D’oh. So like mother, like daughter.
And even though I love walking, lately I’ve been so busy with my super interesting and very important job (which I happened to love!) that I needed some extra motivation to get me out of the door to keep on walking and I found one. StepBet became such a motivator for me. 😄
